Q: Why should I test, inspect, and maintain my electrical equipment on a regular basis?
A: The deterioration of electrical equipment is an inevitable process, but failures are not. Regular maintainence can identify and solve minor problems that can result in a complete malfunction if left unidentified.
Q: Do you charge for estimates?
A: No. All residential and commercial customers are entitled to one free estimate per electrical project.
Q: Sometimes the lights in my house flicker and some of my receptacles don't work. Is that dangerous?
A: It can become dangerous if left unchecked. This type of problem we run into almost every day. We usually find a bad connection on a receptacle or a switch. The connection has overheated and the circuit is interrupted.
Q: I mentioned to my neighbor that I still have fuses and he said he could change my box from fuses to circuit breakers. I think he can do electrical work but he doesn't have a license. Should I take the chance?
A: Not if you value piece of mind. That type of work is best left for the professionals. A licensed electrical contractor can do the job safely and according to the latest Electrical Code. The licensed electrician also has insurance.
Q: How do I know if an electrician is really licensed and insured?
A: Ask him to show you proof. Any legitimate electrician will be glad to show you his license and insurance certificate. If he won't he probably doesn't have one.
